The Jo Bloggs Project

CMC Medianet Academy 2008

The Jo Bloggs Project

Jo Bloggs is a young journalist, a Christian and a fictional character. She started life, conceptually at least, as Joel Bloggs, the focus of the Churches’ Media Conference’s Medianet Academy project for 2008.

The project entailed exploring issues of Christian ethics within contemporary media, by telling the story of Jo, a Christian trying to carve out a career in a tough and competitive world.

Jo Bloggs is a project exploring how video, audio and web can be used in an experimental way to blur the lines between fiction and reality while telling the story of someone dealing with the very issue of ‘fictionality’ in reporting.

Fifteen academy trainees split into task groups to create three key elements to telling Jo’s story in a fresh and interesting way: Video, Audio and Web.
